Historical/Biographical Sketch
Esther Baer Lindsay attended the University of Toledo with her twin sister, Ethel, during 1923-1924 and 1924-1925, their freshman and sophomore years, before finishing college at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. Many students attending the municipal university lived at home to take advantage of the cheaper cost. The University provided an active social life for students of the 1920’s with the founding of a number of sorority and fraternity organizations.
With her sister, Esther Lindsay helped found the Psi Chi Phi sorority at the University, then located on the Scott Park Campus. Although many of their social activities were still held at the former 11th and Illinois building, downtown. Psi Chi Phi later became the Delta Delta Delta group, when the sorority joined the national organization.
