Accreditation
The University of Toledo is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), a commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Accreditation was continued in 2012.
Because the university is participating in the Standard Pathway, two site visits will
occur over the next review cycle – one in 2015-2016, and the second in 2021-22. The
official letter confirming the university’s status of affiliation with the Higher Learning Commission
can be found here.
The HLC accreditation process is governed by the Criteria for Accreditation, which contains Criterion Statements and Core Components that ensure institutional
effectiveness. Additional information about the criteria, assumed practices, and obligations
of affiliation can be found at the HLC website.
Individual program accreditations are overseen by John Barrett, Vice Provost for College and Faculty Relations. Any reports being prepared for individual accreditors should be given to Vice Provost Barrett for review before being submitted.
