Parama Sarkar (Ph.D., Michigan State) is an Associate Professor, and has research and teaching interests in Postcolonial and Global Anglophone literature and culture, Contemporary British literature, Ethnic American Literature, and Women's Studies. She is the author of Postcolonial Literatures(2016), and has published articles and book reviews in The Journal of Commonwealth and Postcolonial StudiesSouth Asian Review, and MELUS. Dr. Sarkar teaches a range of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including courses on Literature of the British Empire, World Literatures and Cultures, Literature of Diverse and and Nonwhite Communities, US Ethnic Literature, and single author courses on Salman Rushdie and Zadie Smith. She was the recipient of a Master Teacher Award and Fellowship for 2013 to 2015 from the College of Arts and Letters at the University of Toledo.
