Margaret Baer

Background Information

Margaret Baer is a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and a second year psychology graduate student, under the mentorship of Dr. Matthew Tull (primary mentor) and Dr. Kim Gratz.  She has a B.A. in psychology (2014) from the Catholic University of America (CUA).  She is a former member of Dr. David Jobes’ Suicide Prevention Lab (CUA), Dr. Martin Safer’s Applied Emotion and Memory Lab (CUA), Dr. Tara Chaplin’s Youth Emotion Lab (George Mason University), and Dr. Marjan Ghahramanlou-Holloway’s Suicide Care, Prevention, and Research (CPR) Institute (Uniformed Services University).

Research Interests

Margaret is primarily interested in clarifying the co-occurrence of self-injurious thoughts and behaviors (suicide ideation/attempts, NSSI) with addictive behaviors (substance use, problematic smartphone use).
