Linnie Wheeless, J.D.

Linnie is a Ph.D. candidate in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi. She earned her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago and her B.A. in Psychology from DePaul University. She previously worked in the Anxiety Disorder Clinic and Dialectical Behavior Therapy Clinic under the direction of Dr. Kim Gratz and Dr. Matthew Tull at the PERT Lab when it was located at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Prior to moving to Toledo, Linnie completed an externship in Jackson, Mississippi, where she provided Dialectical Behavior Therapy and other acceptance-based behavioral therapies to patients with borderline personality disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder.  

Research/Clinical Interests

Linnie’s research interests include the role of emotion dysregulation and experiential avoidance in the development and maintenance of anxiety pathology and personality disorders. She is also interested in the efficacy of mindfulness-based interventions and investigating whether specific facets of mindfulness function as mechanisms for change during treatment.
