If you have registered online for a package of lessons or participation in an ensemble with the UT Community Music Program, your registration has been received. You will receive a confirmation email to the email address you provided. See below for information on paying your fees and our cancelation policy.

PAYMENT INFORMATION (Lessons or Ensembles)

GROUP LESSONS are $75 for a package of 6 weekly, 1-hour lessons, and must be paid in full before the first lesson. Scholarships for group lessons (grades 1-12 only) are available through our partner, BeInstrumental, for those who qualify. Visit the BeInstrumental web site for details.

PRIVATE LESSONS are private music instruction lessons and are $90 for a package of 6 lessons. To register, you must contact the department chair, Dr. Jason Stumbo, directly so that he can assign a teacher to teach the lesson. Please do not pay for your private lesson package unless you have a teacher confirmed. To sign up for private lessons, email Dr. Stumbo: Jason.Stumbo@utoledo.edu.

UT YOUTH JAZZ ORCHESTRA fees are $60 to participate for one semester. Fees include all music, rehearsals and one performance.

CANCELATION POLICY - Group Lessons, Private Lessons or Ensembles

Please read the information below carefully. The information may be slightly different, depending on whether you are taking music lessons or are a member of a community ensemble for which you have paid to participate. All fees are expected to be paid in full IN ADVANCE before your first lesson or rehearsal. Refunds will be issued in full or in part according to the following conditions. Otherwise, assume there will be no refund.

If YOU need to cancel your registration:

  • You have one week prior to the first session to cancel, so that your seat can be given to another student.
  • If you cancel one week prior to the first session, you will be given a full refund of any fees paid.
  • Cancelations after one week before the first session will not be refunded.
  • If you are sick and cannot attend a session, please notify your teacher/ensemble director by email. But there will not be a refund.

If WE cancel a session due to inclement weather or for any other reason:

  • Lessons or rehearsals/performances will be cancelled only if the University of Toledo is closed for any reason or cancels classes during the time the event should have taken place. Please visit the UT home page www.utoledo.edu or tune to local media for closing information.
  • If we cancel a music lesson, a refund of the value of 1 lesson will be issued for that lesson. No refunds will be issued for rehearsals. Any ensemble performances we cancel will be rescheduled.
  • If the teacher is unable to be at the lesson, we will provide a substitute teacher. If this cannot be done, a refund for the lesson will be issued for that class. 
  • If an ensemble director is unable to be present, the rehearsal will be cancelled for that date. No refunds.

PERMISSION/CONSENT FORM (IF YOU ARE UNDER 18)

A parental permission & emergency medical treatment consent is required. Please complete this form, and fax/mail with the participant's parent or guardian’s signature. Students under age 18 will NOT be admitted to the lesson or ensemble without a signed form.
