2017 Sing + Share Festival

Choral singers at the University of Toledo UTThe University of Toledo Department of Music choral music program offers an extraordinary opportunity for high school choral students and ensembles. On Saturday, October 28 we will hold our second annual University of Toledo Sing + Share Festival. The Sing + Share Festival is a critiquing opportunity for ensembles and will be held from 1-5 p.m.

SING + SHARE FESTIVAL - October 28

1-5 p.m. Doermann Theater, University Hall
Check-in at 12:30-12:45 p.m. in the Center for Performing Arts

Ensembles are invited to perform 1 or 2 works which are considered “polished” and performance ready, and an additional work that is “in progress.” Groups will then receive feedback from the audience, which will include teachers and students from other schools. As a means of guiding these critiques, schools will receive a Music Listening Guide in advance of the festival, and examples will be provided prior to the first ensemble. This is an opportunity to share our art and our process, and to help teach students about thoughtful musical listening in a low-pressure performance situation. The end of the festival will feature a performance by the UT Concert Chorale – and we will also share music that is “in progress.”
Each ensemble will have a 16-minute time slot. [This festival is intended for High School ensembles. Both auditioned and non-auditioned groups are welcome].
