ABOUT HEARINGS and RECITALS

If you are a Department of Music performance major, you are required to prepare and present recitals as part of your degree program. Prior to your recital, you must hold and pass a hearing with your faculty. The hearing ensures that you are prepared to perform your chosen music, and that your recital program contains the music necessary to satisfy your degree requirements, that correct translations have been provided (if necessary), and that the recital program is of sufficient length. Complete instructions are available in the Student Handbook. There are two forms you will need - the Space Reservation Form for Music Students and a Hearing Form (the Hearing Form should be printed out as you will need to obtain signatures from your faculty). A paper version of the Hearing Form is also available in the Music Department main office.

Hearing Form - MUSIC STUDENTS (PDF)

The Hearing Form is kind of a checklist and helps track your progress through the hearing. Please click the link above to download this form. Save it to your computer or storage device, complete the top part of the form, print it and take it with you to your faculty member, who will help you schedule your hearing. You will also need to bring it with you to your hearing.

IMPORTANT TIP FOR SAVING YOUR HEARING FORM!

Having trouble saving the form with your info? Complete the form, then choose "Print." Under your printer choices, choose "Save as a PDF" or "PDF Writer" instead of whatever printers you have. Keep in mind, you may not be able to make additional changes to your saved form once you save it. But at least you'll have a saved copy which you can email.
