The University of Toledo Alumni Association is pleased to announce that beginning July 30, the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles will begin selling two new vanity license plates. Ohio residents will have the chance to choose from the new University “Crest” logo or the Toledo “Rockets” logo, both of which are being offered for the very first time. Best of all, $25 of the $35 collected by the Ohio BMV for each set of plates goes into a scholarship fund at the University that now totals more than $82,000.
“With the creation of the new University of Toledo and a new crest, now is the perfect time to change our existing plates,” said Dan Saevig, associate vice president of alumni relations and executive director of the Alumni Association. “We also heard from many alumni and friends who wanted to display the “Rockets” logo and their enthusiasm led to the decision to offer both options.”
To purchase a set, visit any Deputy Registrars office after July 30. They may also be purchased after July 30 by calling 1-888-Plates3 (888-752-8373), by mail or online at www.oplates.com. Holders of existing University of Toledo vanity plates will receive more information in the mail from Ohio BMV. Current plates may be replaced at any time.
