Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition_ May 8 - June 7, 2009

The University of Toledo Department of Art host the annual BFA Exhibition

Current BFA students, Shannon Huffman, Helen Grubb, Andrea Carnick, Courtney Macklin, Britney McIntire, and Chelsey Younkman will exhibit their most recent works as a capstone of their degree accomplishments. Using string and thread, Shannon Huffman intertwines the complexity of relationships and the written word. Helen Grubb explores the realm of "messes," internal and external. Andrea Carnick's interprets the English countryside through her series of mixed-media works, incorporating painting and sculptural elements.

Working photographically, Courtney Macklin presents a world of movement, psychological and physical. Britney McIntire's paintings, drawings, and installation pieces reveal mark making as a an interpretation of "conversation." Large-format, brightly-colored paintings and lithos are Chelsey Younkman's chosen media for her expressive portraits of friends and family members.

These talented young women have successfully completed their studies and numerous grueling critiques leading to this group exhibition. We applaud them for their accomplishments and wish them continued success.
