Each year the Department solicits applications from senior biology majors who are interested in teaching one section of the Fundamentals of Life Science Lab during the spring term of their senior year. Interested students should provide the department chair with contact information in October and credential review takes place during November. Candidates are interviewed by a committee consisting of the Department Chair, a Department Advisor and the Department Lab Coordinator. Typically, 6-8 students are selected and they are notified in early December. UGTAs receive a stipend of $500 and can register for 2 hours of BIOL4990-100 Biology Teaching Internship (fee is waived).
