Student Achievements

Bev Vasko’s thesis The Relationship of Early and Subsequent Trauma in the Social Environment and the Onset and Development of Bipolar Disorder in Women (May 2002) was the first Master in Liberal Studies thesis with disability studies content. 

Dr. Patricia Groves, Associate Professor of Women’s & Gender Studies, served as the thesis adviser and Dr. Patricia A. Murphy, Visiting Professor of Disability Studies served on the thesis committee.  Ms. Vasko has given the Disability Studies Program a copy of her thesis and it is available for review.
