Law & Social Thought Concentration in Disability Studies

The program in Law & Social Thought (LST) and the Disability Studies (DST) program are academic partners at The University of Toledo. Both programs are innovative, student centered, and interdisciplinary. Together, DST and LST balance a critical examination of legal and disability oriented institutions and culture with advocacy for dialog and change.

The Law & Social Thought major is ideal for students who are interested learning about legal and social institutions from a variety of perspectives and for those who are interested social or legal advocacy. The combination of the Law & Social Thought major with the Disability Studies minor or the Disability Studies concentration can help prepare students for careers in government agencies, human resources departments, community organizations, media outlets, education, and in the disability community.

Majoring in LST with a DST minor or a DST concentration is also excellent preparation for students interested in law school or graduate studies.
