Former Researchers

Steve Choc

Steve joined the lab as an REU student in 2005.  He continued on to his MS project studying Berger Ditch microbial communities and hydrology.

Colin de Saint Victor

Colin first joined the lab as an REU student in 2004 working on source tracking of bacteria within Maumee Bay.  He later continued with his MS thesis work studying E. coli densities, sediment loads, and turbidity in Berger Ditch.

Scott Denham

Scott was a 2008 and 2009 summer intern from Youngstown State University involved in the monitoring of bacteria and environmental parameters at Maumee Bay State Park.

Sandi Garrett

Sandi worked in the ERRL lab during Spring and Summer 2008 as an undergraduate technician.  She processed water samples for E. coli, suspended sediment, and turbidity.

Ryan Gorr

Ryan worked as an undergraduate assistant in 2009.  He aided in evapotranspiration and microcosm studies.

Joe Hickey

Joe's MS thesis work included a survey of plant species at various brownfield sites within northwest Ohio and investigated the ability of those plant species to uptake heavy metals.

Rajiv McCoy

Rajiv interned for the lab in summer 2008 and 2009.  In 2008, he helped screen plants for evapotranspiration studies and in 2009, he conducted several experiments for arsenic remediation.

Josh Saunders

Josh joined the ERRL lab as an undergraduate technician in 2005 and continued on as a MS student, modeling contaminant transport through field lysimeters.

Myla Skalsky

Myla completed her environmental internship in the lab, learning standard methods for determining E. coli densities, turbidity, and suspended sediment in water samples over the summer of 2008.

Eric Snyder

To complete his teaching requirements, Eric joined the lab in summer 2008 to gain hands-on experience in a variety of applications, including site charaterizations of Maumee Bay and studies of tracers and heavy metals in plants.

Adam Waltz

Adam worked in the lab as an undergraduate technician from summer 2008 through summer 2009.  His duties included microbial monitoring in Maumee Bay and  helping in the greenhouse and microcosm studies.  He is working on his MS in Occupational Health and Safety.
