Ph.D. student research assistantships in invasion genetics

Description: Ph.D. student(s) fellowships in invasion genetics; genetics of the dreissenid mussel invasion across North America as your Ph.D. dissertation focus. Others may be available in invasion genetics of fishes- including the ruffe, tubenose goby, and round goby (see our recent papers in Molecular Ecology, Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, and Biol. Journal Linnean Society). Will provide RAship or TAship, General Fees, Medical, Tuition, all research expenses. Opportunity for US citizens to obtain 2 year NSF Gk-12 fellowship for $30,000/yr stipend (plus all above). Opportunity to travel for collections, present at key conferences (national/international), publish in top-ranked journals, beautiful state-of-the-art facility and equipment, superior mentorship, job/postdoctoral placement.

Qualifications: Excellent student, prefer MS degree in Biology, Genetics, or Ecology; prefer publication experience; excellent communication skills-oral and written; competitive gradepoint and GRE scores; strong interest in invasive species, conservation, and/or fisheries
