Ed Duling
Ed Duling is Assistant Professor of Music Education at the University of Toledo, where he teaches general music methods to music and elementary education majors, advises, and leads graduate classes.  A native of Coshocton County, Ohio, Duling has taught in the local schools there as well as in Greene and Tuscarawas counties, and in Chattanooga, TN; faculty service includes OSU-Newark, Morehead State University, Bowling Green State University, and UT-Chattanooga. 

Dr. Duling has taught all levels of public school general music, chorus and band, and holds a BM from Capital University and an MA and Ph.D. from The Ohio State University. Ed has been active as a church organist/choir director, a trombonist, and tubist.

Published articles and reviews have appeared in TRIAD, MEJ, ITA Journal, Newsletter of the Fellowship of United Methodists, Percussive Notes, The Bluegrass Music News, The Bulletin of the Sonneck Society, Journal of Music Teacher Education, Update, and in Contributions to Music Education. 

Duling is immediate past editor of TRIAD, the official publication of the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA).  He has been involved in OMEA since undergraduate school as student state editor, and has served OMEA as a standing and ad hoc committee chair.  MENC service includes contributions to three Strategies for Teaching books, and most recently, inclusion of four syllabi for the second edition of Syllabi for Music Methods Courses.  Duling holds membership in MENC/OMEA, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, ITA, TUBA, AGO, and Pi Kappa Lambda, The Society for American Music, and The Fellowship of United Methodists.
