How do I register for classes?
Direct From High School Students Students who have been admitted to the College of Arts and Sciences directly from high school will register for classes during the first-year student summer orientation program, Rocket Launch. For specific dates and information about Rocket Launch, contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Direct from High School Students (419) 530-5720 or 1-800-UTOLEDO, extension 5720.
It is important to discuss the following issues with your adviser during orientation in order to ensure that you register for appropriate classes in your first term at UT:
  • AP and CLEP tests you have taken, especially if you did not request that scores be sent officially to UT
  • College credit you earned while attending high school
  • Majors and careers you are considering, even if you have not decided
  • Work schedule and other considerations that may affect your course selection
Adult Students Adult students are students who have been out of high school for one year or more, and/or have earned a GED.

Adult students who have been accepted for admission to the College of Arts and Sciences should contact the college Student Services office to make an appointment with an academic adviser.  Placement testing may be necessary prior to registration.

Adult students under the age of 21 whose first term of enrollment is fall semester will be invited to attend the Rocket Launch summer orientation program.

It is important to discuss the following issues with your adviser during your initial meeting in order to ensure that you register for appropriate classes in your first term at UT:

  • Non-traditional credit you may have earned such as AP, CLEP, Dantes, or military credit
  • College credit you have earned at other institutions
  • Majors and careers you are considering, even if you have not decided
  • Work schedule and other considerations that may affect your course selection
Transfer Students Transfer students who have been accepted for admission to the College of Arts and Sciences should contact the college Student Services office to make an appointment with the Transfer Adviser. Placement testing may be necessary prior to registration. Students should check UT's Web for Students to determine if all previous transfer credit has been posted to UT's records system and bring documentation of any work that is not yet posted to the initial advising appointment.

It is important to discuss the following issues with your adviser during your initial appointment in order to ensure that your register for appropriate classes in your first term at UT:
  • Non-traditional credit you may have earned such as AP, CLEP, Dantes, or military credit
  • Additional transfer credit that does not appear on your Transfer Credit Evaluation
  • Majors and careers you are considering, even if you have not decided
  • Work schedule and other considerations that may affect your course selection
Readmit Students

UT students who have not attended classes at UT for more than one calendar year must be readmitted.  Students who wish to be readmitted must contact the College of Arts and Sciences Student Services office to make an appointment with an Academic Adviser before registering for classes.  Readmit students who were previously in a college at UT other than the College of Arts and Sciences must have a UT cumulative GPA of 2.0 to be readmitted to the College of Arts and Sciences.

Readmit Students With Transfer Credit   If you transferred to another college or university after you stopped attending classes at UT, you must reapply for admission to UT as a transfer student and submit official transcripts from all educational institutions you have attended.  You will be considered a transfer student and should refer to the registration instructions for transfer students.
