Holly Hey was born and raised in a small NW Ohio manufacturing town called Bryan. It's the home of the Dum Dum sucker. She holds a BFA in photography from Ohio University and a MFA in Filmmaking from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is an experimental moving-image maker who explores fragmented narrative, memory, home, gender, and sexuality. Holly's creative work is rooted in Personal and Structural Film along with Feminist, Post-Modern, and Queer theory.
