University Wind Ensemble
Fall 2013 Wind Ensemble Auditions - Auditions will be held Monday and Tuesday, August 19 and 20. An audition sign-up
sheet will be posted outside the UT Band Office, CPA 1020, beginning Wednesday, August
14. Auditions will consist of the posted music (below), with possible scales and
sight reading. Please note the suggested tempos provided on the excerpts. These
are target tempos. Do your best to work the music up to tempo, but better accuracy
at a slower tempo is preferred to poor execution at the target tempo. Contact Dr. Jason Stumbo if you have any questions.
Flute Clarinet Oboe Bassoon Alto Saxophone Tenor/Bari Sax & B. Clarinet
Trumpet Horn Trombone Euphonium (BC) Baritone (TC) Tuba
Percussion is assigned by Professor Olman Piedra. Percussionists interested in auditioning should contact Professor Piedra.
The concert ensembles are a vibrant part of the Department of Music and the Band Program at UT. The Wind Ensemble and the Symphonic Band are open to all UT students and both perform several concerts throughout the year. Whether you want to be challenged as a player or just want to have fun playing music, we have an ensemble for you.
The University Wind Ensemble is comprised of some of the most talented wind players
and percussionists on the UT campus, performing high-quality literature composed over
the past 400 years. The ensemble performs up to three concerts each semester, both
on and off campus. The Wind Ensemble is open to ALL university students through audition.
Auditions consist of provided excerpts and sightreading. Contact the UT Bands Office for further information - 419/530-2217- or email the director - firstname.lastname@example.org.
