Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Are incoming students required to have a laptop?
A. Students are not required to have a laptop, but it is highly recommended.

Q. Where can I check a laptop out at?
A. The laptop checkout program is located in Stranahan 0125 (basement). First-time checkout students must sign a waiver before checking out a laptop.

Q. Who can check out a laptop?
A. Laptop checkout is limited to students who are enrolled in at least 1 business class for the current semester or are registered students at the College of Business and Innovation for the current semester. All students who are enrolled pay a technology fee for this service.

Q. Where can I print in the College of Business and Innovation? 
A. College of Business students may print (Black & white only) in rooms ST1019, ST125, and SB 2nd, 3rd, & 4th-floor hallway. Use "Follow Me on print -mc" to print.

Q. How to connect your devices to print on campus? 
A. College of Business students may print using their personal devices such as laptops or smartphones. Follow the instructions here: Mobility Print

Q. As a student, am I eligible to use discounted software like Microsoft Office?
A. Yes, students can find information about the discounted software here.

Q. What are the costs of using the virtual lab?
A. There are no costs for using this system or its components. The lab is funded by the College of Business technology fee. The only costs that may incur are fines for lost or damaged equipment, as well as late returns (overdue laptops).

Q. What are the times available for checkout?
A. During Fall and Spring Semesters, you can check out a laptop for 4 hours between 8:30 AM and 10 PM Mondays - Thursdays. During the summer semester, the hours are 8:30 AM - 9 PM, Monday - Thursday. (* due to COVID the lab timings have changes please visit - Business computer Labs for latest updates)

Q. How long can I check out a laptop?
A. The laptop must be returned before 4 hours and before the virtual lab closes for the day.

Q. How can I connect my personal laptop to the Wireless Network?
A. Please see the "NETWORK" page.

Q. How can I activate my UTAD account?
A. You can activate your UTAD account and reset your password by going to https://myutaccount.utoledo.edu.
