The Student Managed Portfolio invests in large-cap domestic securities within the
S&P 500 and Russell Value 1000 Indices. Our investing philosophy is derived from the
College of Business and Innovation's own John B. Neff. He practiced value investing
using “bottom-up” fundamental analysis. We look primarily at stocks with relatively
low Price/Earnings and Price/Book ratios, strong dividend yield, superior relationship
of total return to Price/Earnings paid, solid financial statements, and strong long
term growth prospects among other factors. The fund's investment policy statement
outlines the parameters that we must adhere to. At the end of each quarter we are
held accountable as fund managers to present our performance to the Joint University
of Toledo/University of Toledo Foundation Investment Committee. |
