Human Resource Management

Learn More

The UToledo John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation's human resource management program teaches students about a wide variety of HR issues - selection, training, recruitment, compensation, benefits, legal issues, employee relations and safety.

Human resource management majors at The University of Toledo study the full scope of HR issues. Our undergraduates learn about compensation and benefits, and how to recruit and select employees. They also learn how to retain staff, resolve conflict and build effective teams.

Students can gain real-world experience through numerous internship opportunities that often lead to full-time positions. This lets students work with accomplished professionals in the human resource field while earning college credit. Some graduates begin working as a human resource generalist whereby they complete multiple HR tasks. Others work as HR specialists and focus on one area, such as recruitment, compensation or benefits, and some have even developed a human resource department for a smaller firm from scratch.
