UToledo's Department of Accounting prepares you for jobs in public accounting, corporate accounting, and in the not-for-profit sector. If you wonder about the future for accountants, the U.S. Department of Labor estimates that the employment of accountants will grow by about 10% per year until 2026. The Department works closely with alumni and accounting professionals to ensure that our programs continue to meet the needs of employers who are hiring our graduates. Our graduates do well in the job market.
The Mission of the department of accounting is to provide our diverse student body with the knowledge and skills necessary for successful accounting-related careers, conduct and disseminate research relevant to the accounting community and provide service to the professional and academic communities. The College of Business and Innovation envisions our program to be the accounting program of choice for domestic students and students from targeted international universities with a reputation for quality graduates, scholarly achievements and notable service.

The Department of Accounting is proud to announce that Hannah Smith has passed another section of the CPA exam! Hannah is a 2019 UT Pacemaker and a 2020 MSA graduate who took the CPA courses as part of her MSA program. Hannah started her career at EY in September. We are very fortunate to be a part of her journey to become a CPA.
