Dr. Sachin Modi holds a PhD in Operations Management and Decision Sciences from Indiana University, Bloomington. He also has a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor's of Mechanical Engineering degree from the Maharashtra Institute of Technology, University of Poona, India. His industry experience includes working for i2 Technologies Inc (now JDA Software Group Inc.) as a Consultant for two years and Kanbay International Inc (now part of Capgemini) as an Associate Consultant for over a year.

Dr. Modi's primary research interests are in how firms can leverage supply chain resources and manage productivity to improve their financial performance, management of suppliers, sustainability and healthcare operations.  His research has been published or is forthcoming in journals including Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Supply Chain Management, and Journal of Business Ethics, among others. He is on the editorial review board of the Journal of Operations Management and the Journal of Supply Chain Management. He has received the outstanding reviewer awards from Journal of Operations Management (2011) and Decision Sciences Journal (2014). He is an Associate Editor at the Journal of Operations Management.
