Beginning May 14, I will be a Personal Banker Associate with Fifth Third Bank. This is a sales position with a primary focus on sales development and relationship building through the promotion of deposits, loans, fee-based services and the retention of customers. I will be responsible for selling a full range of banking products and services to meet existing and prospective customers' needs, while providing specialized care and service to existing and prospective bank customers. I will utilize and promote the consultative sales and service process, using the prescribed tools and interacting with the staff for referral activity.
I am excited to have a secure job before graduation. I chose Fifth Third because I know this is a great starting job. They have a mentor program and a great training program, and their environment is very diverse and fast paced.
This is the entry level position to reach my personal career goals. I plan to move up the ladder of banking rather quickly and soon be in a management role of a branch. As long as I have a boss, I have a goal to have that person’s job and move up!
COBI is the reason I have this position through the multiple networking events such as mock interviews and career fair. I was able to talk to my employer multiple times at these events and that is how I received the job. COBI helped me with my presentation and research skills. Everything I have learned in the four years here I hope to apply in my position.
I am double majoring in business management and marketing. (I have a full ride scholarship here.) I selected these majors because when I was in high school I was involved in a business program called DECA which focused on entrepreneurship, management and marketing. We use to do case competitions and I always enjoyed them and decided I wanted to be a business woman.
To someone considering studying business at COBI, I would say we have an amazing business program with professors who are experienced in their fields through research and real work experience. Also COBI has professors that do not mind helping you outside of the classroom. They will connect you with organizations, people and jobs.
