Physical Education PreK-12

Students who complete the physical education major will be certified to teach physical education preK-12. In addition to the physical education certification, students will be required to complete either a second degree (e.g. B.A. in Urban Studies, B.S. in Exercise Science, B.Ed. in Recreation Administration) or a second track (e.g. athletic training or health) for the B.Ed. degree. The coursework required for the physical education certification track (depending on majors selected) is as follows: University Core Curriculum: 27-30 hours Select from the list in the General Section of this catalog. Physical Education PreK-12/Recreation Administration

Health Education PreK-12

Students who complete the health education major will be certified to teach health education preK-12. In addition to the health education certification, students will be required to complete either a second degree (e.g. B.A. in Urban Studies, B.Ed. in Community Health) or a second track (e.g. athletic training or physical education) for the B.Ed. degree.
