EMBA - 6100 GLOBAL COMPETITIVE CHALLENGE
[3 hours] An overview of the competitive challenge faced by firms
in today’s global setting. Executives select nations or regions and industries
to analyze in terms of the competitive challenge. Factors which helped
the nations/regions to achieve competitive advantage will be studied.

EMBA - 6110 GLOBAL CULTURAL AWARENESS
[3 hours] Designed to develop the executives’ appreciation, knowledge
and understanding of different cultures. It is taught in modules, with
each module covering a major world culture. The objective is to enhance
the executives’ ability to negotiate and do business in different cultures.

EMBA - 6120 FOREIGN BUSINESS PRACTICES
[3 hours] Presented on three distinct levels. These include:
First, a concentration on firms and their distinct practices of conducting
business, augmented by a review at a cultural, societal level, and finally
a review of the economic, financial, legal and governmental institutions
and systems that have developed in the world regions. In this course executives
develop an in-depth expertise in one or more of the major world regions
and a broad understanding of global differences in business systems and

EMBA - 6130 GLOBAL COMPETITIVE RESPONSE
[3 hours] Offers executives opportunities to apply and integrate
the analytical skills and knowledge they have developed during the program.
The main focus of this course is on assessing the competitive challenges
and developing competitive strategies in a global business environment.
It promotes team work through group assignments. It also encourages individual
executives to develop a long-term career strategy by focusing the business

EMBA - 6200 PERSONAL STRATEGIC PLANNING AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP
[3 hours] New business opportunities created by evolving technologies
and the roles of entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs in meeting the needs of
free markets in capitalistic societies are topics for the first half of
this course. The second half of the course exposes executives to the actual
process of getting a new business venture started and developed successfully.

EMBA - 6210 PROBLEM SOLVING AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
[3 hours] Introduces executives to the tools used in solving
complex and controversial problems in culturally diverse and competitive
organizations. The course emphasizes creative and communication skills
in providing feedback, conflict resolution, negotiation and persuasion.
Team activities are integrated into the entire creative problem-solving
process. Prerequisite: EMBA is lock-step
EMBA - 6220 ACCOUNTING AND CONTROL SYSTEMS
[3 hours] Introduces and surveys financial accounting, managerial
accounting and control systems used by medium-sized businesses. It emphasizes
the preparation and use of fundamental financial statements. Accounting
for international transactions and foreign entities will be explored.
Managerial accounting and control systems will also be examined. The tax
segment of this course focuses on U.S. and international operations and
the tax consequences of selected transactions. Prerequisite: EMBA

EMBA - 6230 MARKET-DRIVEN ANALYSIS
[3 hours] Provides individuals with an externally oriented, proactive
approach to market analysis and strategy. The course develops an individual’s
analytical and decision-making skills in identifying market opportunities
and problems, as well as developing market-driven programs to effectively
address those opportunities and problems. Prerequisite: EMBA is lock-step
EMBA - 6240 ENTREPRENEURIAL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
[3 hours] Focuses on managing the financial activities of small
and medium-sized firms operating in a global environment. The topics covered
include domestic and international cash management; financial planning
and forecasting; intermediate level financial statement analysis; risk
and leverage management; business valuation; an overview of the effects
of exchange rate and other foreign sources of risk; domestic and international
letters of credit, and various forms of term debt; leasing; export trade
finance; venture capital and small equity offerings; and the development
of financing proposals for capital projects. Prerequisite: EMBA is

EMBA - 6250 PLANNING AND MANAGING CHANGE
[3 hours] The purpose of the course is to equip the manager with
the critical skills and behavior necessary to effectively lead their organizations
in both creating and managing operational change. The course will also
focus on the behavior of individuals and groups in complex organizations.

EMBA - 6300 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT
[3 hours] An end-user computing focus with a portfolio approach
to state-of the-art information technology. It emphasizes what is
available, how to use it, and how it can be utilized. Personal and professional
skills required for successful development and implementation of this technology
are studied. Prerequisite: EMBA program is lock-step
EMBA - 6310 BUSINESS PROCESS REENGINEERING
[3 hours] Interdisciplinary course on the management of process
innovation. Focuses on the redesign of cross-functional business processes
at the operating level to reduce throughput or service time, enhance value
to the customer and create a customer-driven organization. The course covers
all operating processes in the value chain. Included are the supply
network, internal operations, distribution network, after-sale served and
administrative support functions. Prerequisite: EMBA is lock-step
EMBA - 6320 PRODUCT AND SERVICE DEVELOPMENT
[3 hours] Focuses on the issues, activities, techniques and problems
involved in the management of product development. Includes development
of the product concept, product and service design, process design, and
delivery system design. Material covered includes conceptual and analytical
tools required to identify the appropriate market segment and customer
needs. Executives learn how to translate these needs into product specifications,
design the products and processes for manufacture, delivery and service

EMBA - 6330 TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT
[3 hours] Introduces executives to the TQM philosophy, concepts
and tools. Executives work in teams to identify and solve real-life problems
using TQM approaches. The course covers such topics as the process involved;
the process and methods of problem-solving; an overview of statistical
process control; inspection and sampling methods; the current best industry
practices; benchmarking and continuous improvement; customer, supplier
