[3 hours]  A study of the major religions of the world, with an emphasis on non-Western religions. Course is cross-listed as HUMA 1220.

REL - 2300   UNDERSTANDING THE MONOTHEISTIC RELIGIONS
[3 hours]  A study of the similarities as well as the differences between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

REL - 2310   OLD TESTAMENT HISTORY AND IDEAS
[3 hours]  Examination of Old Testament history and ideas.

REL - 2330   NEW TESTAMENT HISTORY AND IDEAS
[3 hours]  Examination of the history and ideas of the New Testament.

REL - 2980   SPECIAL TOPICS IN CATHOLIC THOUGHT
[3 hours]  Critical examination of selected topics in contemporary Catholic thought and life, offered by the Visiting Professor of Catholic Thought.

REL - 3100  ISLAM
[3 hours]  A study of religion of Islam, its historical development, contemporary forms, and current issues.

REL - 3510   COMPARATIVE RELIGION: LIVING NON-WESTERN RELIGIONS
[3 hours]  Study of the major attitudes toward life, human existence and the world embodied in such major religions of the world as Buddhism, Confucianism, Hinduism, Islam, and Taoism.

REL - 3900   SEMINAR-CONTEMPORARY RELIGIOUS THOUGHT
[3 hours]  A critical examination of selected topics in the area of religion.
