Clinical Sequencing News

GenomeWeb is pleased to announce the Academic Access Program for Clinical Sequencing News, a newsletter dedicated to covering the tools and technologies relevant to bringing genome sequencing into a clinical setting.

To give you a sense of what it's about, here are the latest headlines from Clinical Sequencing News:

Thanks to Knome's exclusive sponsorship of the Clinical Sequencing News Academic Access Program, this newsletter is freely available to all researchers in academia, government, and nonprofit research institutions.  Click here to access the online archive of prior issues of Clinical Sequencing

Interpretome: new online tools for analysing personal genome data.  Written by Daniel MacArthur
Konrad Karczewski and colleagues from Stanford have put together a very handy set of online tools for analysing personal genomic data. The tools work within your browser (Chrome and FireFox only, so the ~18% of you who continue to use Internet Explorer now have yet another incentive to change), meaning your genetic data never actually leaves your computer. Study Finds MicroRNA Signatures for Blood-Based Lung Cancer Test
In a study published earlier this spring in The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Carlo Croce, who will be a speaker at this year's Personalized Health Care National Conference at Ohio State, and colleagues investigated miRNA expression profiles in tissue and plasma samples from a completed spiral-computed tomography screening trial, identifying a set of signatures in blood that could predict cancer much earlier than CT alone and distinguish more aggressive forms of the disease.
