The system consists of two components - a Windows-based application and a web-based client. The Clinical Skills Builder application allows a faculty member to create clinical skills exams, cases, communication and skills assessments, and couplets. The Clinical Skills Builder web client handles all the data entry by the standardized patients and observers. It provides a method to easily create a clinical skills exam schedule based on room availability, number of cases being presented, and the number of students going through the exam. The system also creates various reports including student and group scores, and handles the administration functions to prepare and run a clinical skills exam.
