intEARactive is an interactive multimedia program which contains high-end 3D computer graphics and animations depicting the anatomy of the middle and inner ear and the progression of Otitis Media disease.
Original, first-rate medical illustrations and exciting 3D computer animations are combined to take the viewer on a fantastic journey in the ear to see the progression of Otitis Media from a minor inflammation to a full rupture into the brain. There are fully rendered 3D computer animations which allow the user to examine "virtual objects" of all the structures of the ear individually or together (as a working whole) in their normal, healthy state as well as in the acute and chronic stages of Otitis Media disease. Expert narration is added to explain the visual content.
This programs was developed with Dr. Gerald Rosen and Dr. Allan Rubin, Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Toledo. It is intended to be used in the teaching of medical students, interns, residents, and family practitioners.
