MIDA - MUO Image Database Application
MIDA is an image archival and retrieval system. With MIDA you can upload images to a searchable database. MIDA consists of two components: a Windows application and a Web client. A list of several of MIDA's features:
- Upload, download, edit, or delete an image
- Ability to provide a description and keywords for an image
- Customizable categories
- Search on keyword and description
- Saves upload date, image type, image size, and image id
The MIDA Windows application is a Java application. The system requirements for the MIDA application are as follows:
- Sun Microsystems® Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition (J2SE) version 1.4.1 or higher
- Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher, or Netscape® Communicator 4.74 or higher
The MIDA Web client consists of web pages dynamically generated by Java Servlet and Java Server Page technologies. The image details are stored in a database located on a Windows NT/2000 server. The system requirements for the MIDA server are as follows:
- Microsoft Windows NT/2000 server running IIS web server
- Java Application Server (e.g. JRun, Apache Jserv or Tomcat) for IIS
- MySQL database
