The Center for Creative Instruction (CCI) implemented a web cam in August of 1995. The Health Science Campus web cam is a security camera that overlooks the construction of a new building. The first webcam was mounted on the top of the Health Sciences building at the Health Science Campus and tracked the progress of the construction of the Collier Building from start to finish. Since the Collier Building has been completed, the web cam has been moved to another location. Images of the Collier building and time lapse movies of the construction from ground breaking to completion are available. The web cam captures images of construction every two minutes and uploads these to the UT web server. The current location of the Health Science Campus web cam is the Advanced Technology Park of Northwest Ohio. The Advanced Technology Park was established to provide sites, facilities, and supporting services for biomedical and other enterprises with strong scientific and technical orientations.
