Content Management System
Turning text or image into a Link |

There are two types of links:
- Internal: Any page that is maintained in the Content Management System or is part of the University of Toledo website.
- External: Any page that takes you out of the University of Toledo website

Making an Internal Link
- Select or highlight desired text or image.
- Click the Link button

- Select the Internal tab along the top of the window.
- Navigate to the page you would like to link to through the folders listed on the left
- Click the checkbox next to the file name
- In the Target drop-down menu, select Current Window
- Click OK

Making an External Link
Internet Explorer users:
- Highlight the text you want to link, press CTRL + K.
- A Hyperlink window will appear
- Type in or Paste the URL you want to link to.

Another way to link externally:
- Copy the URL of the site you are linking to
- Paste into the body of the page
- Highlight the URL

- Re-type the text that you want to appear as the Link.

Linking a PDF or other document
Before you link to a pdf, you must Upload the document to your PDFs folder. Learn how to Upload
- Select or highlight desired text
- Click the Link button

- Select the Internal tab along the top of the window.
- Navigate to your department's PDFs folder
- Click the checkbox next to the file name
- In the Target drop-down menu, select New Window
- Click OK

Creating E-mail Links |
- Type in or Paste the e-mail address into your page.

- The CMS will recognize it as an e-mail address and automatically make it a link.
