2018 CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE ANNUAL CHINESE TEACHER WORKSHOP,UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO
Description: How can we help students actively, cognitively, and emotionally engage in content? How can we take students into higher-order thinking? How can we design class activities to reach all of these goals? This presentation will examine three categories to explore, analyze, and assess the application of “Total Participation Techniques” in our classrooms in order to check for evidence of student learning. In the afternoon, we will have a hands-on session to experience a few techniques that you can take back to your classrooms and use from day one!
Participants will:
- Understand a model for total participation and higher–order thinking
- Analyze several practical strategies from starting points, procedures to learning results
- Explore how Total Participation Techniques can function as formative assessments
