Academic Support and Student Services
When you begin your college career you will be assigned an advisor who will help you learn how to select your classes and answer your career planning questions. If you're not sure which area of study you would like to pursue you can begin by taking classes required for all students in the College of Communication and the Arts.
If you are not enrolled at UT or you are thinking of changing your major to communication you can call 419-530-2005 to schedule an appointment with a communication department advisor. The following links can also help you research and choose the classes right for you.

The primary advising question most students have each semester is "What courses should I take?" This checksheet will help you in making choices. It provides you with a listing of required courses so you can keep track of them on your own and keep a record of the courses and requirements you've completed.
Download a printable form of the checksheet. Note that all the communication coursework is contained on the Department of Communication curriculum page.
