A higher level of learning and experience

Radio, Television, Journalism, Public Relations -- Whatever your career aspirations are we have opportunities for you. Get involved, try out your skills, and gain valuable hands-on experience.

Produce, Direct, Edit, Shoot
Our students work together with faculty and two full-time professionals to produce live sporting events, sports shows, and public affairs shows. Students work on their own to produce news magazine shows which air on our UT campus cable network. Check out UT:10, the 10-minute weekly newscast produced by the Comm-4100 TV Journalism class at the University of Toledo. The class is an integrated communication course that takes what are four separate courses at most other universities, and combines them into one class.

UT :10 studio shot with students

Picture yourself in front of or behind the camera?

In the studio or on the road, you'll be using HD professional equipment gaining practical hands-on experience. Make sure you look at the facilities page to check out all the gear you'll be using.

Students learn how to research & write stories, shoot and edit video, and report and anchor the news. Through the very intensive class, students are able to get a taste of life in the world of news and media. The class covers local, national, and international events from the UT perspective. Every semester, UT:10 News evolves and changes, striving to meet new technologies and industry standards.
