Welcome to the University of Toledo Department of Music space reservation page. This is the place for information on reserving a space for concerts, recitals and other Music Department events. This is NOT the place to rent Savage Arena or the Student Union Auditorium for large scale concerts and events. HOW DO I KNOW WHAT IS AVAILABLE AND WHEN?
There are two places to check and both of them are available online! The two links below will help you see if the space you are interested in is available. The first shows non-regularly scheduled events such as concerts and recitals. The other is a PDF that shows the classes and rehearsals that are regularly scheduled in each space. Some activities may be listed in both places, others may not be. PLEASE CHECK BOTH before making your reservation request.

Exception: Conference Room PA1004 - This is one of those spaces that may need to be reserved on short notice. To reserve this space visit the Music Department Office or call 419-530-2448 and check its availability.
WHO CAN RESERVE THESE SPACES?
In general, Music Department spaces are available only to department faculty and students. However, there are exceptions to this rule if space and time permits. If you are NOT a Music Department faculty member or student but would like to request the use of one of our spaces, please complete a request online below and someone will be in touch within 3 business days.

All space reservations are tentative pending approval by the Music Department office. Please click the link below to complete the online form. It is now an online, interactive form, not a PDF. Once you complete it and click submit, a copy will be automatically emailed to you, the chair and the department secretary, as well as to Angela Riddel (for programs and to be added to the UT Calendar of Events.)

The Space Reservation Form for Music Students below is the form to use to request the date and space for your Recital, your Hearing and/or to guarantee rehearsal time/space. You can also use this form to reserve space for other things such as reserving the Student Lounge for your student organization meeting. It is now an online, interactive form, not a PDF! Once you complete it and click submit, a copy will be automatically emailed to you, to your faculty member (if applicable) and the department secretary, as well as to Angela Riddel (for programs and to be added to the UT Calendar of Events.)
Please be sure to check the department spaces calendar online before completing the form to make sure your preferred date/time is available.
ABOUT HEARINGS and RECITALS
If you are a Department of Music performance major, you are required to prepare and present recitals as part of your degree program. Prior to your recital, you must hold and pass a hearing with your faculty. The hearing ensures that you are prepared to perform your chosen music, and that your recital program contains the music necessary to satisfy your degree requirements, that correct translations have been provided (if necessary), and that the recital program is of sufficient length. Complete instructions are available in the Student Handbook. There are two forms you will need - the Space Reservation Form for Music Students and a Hearing Form (the Hearing Form should be printed out as you will need to obtain signatures from your faculty). A paper version of the Hearing Form is also available in the Music Department main office.
Space Reservation Form for MUSIC STUDENTS (online interactive form)
The Hearing Form is kind of a checklist and helps track your progress through the hearing. Please click the link above to download this form. Save it to your computer or storage device, complete the top part of the form, print it and take it with you to your faculty member, who will help you schedule your hearing. You will also need to bring it with you to your hearing.
IMPORTANT TIP FOR SAVING YOUR HEARING FORM! Having trouble saving the form with your info? Complete the form, then choose "Print." Under your printer choices, choose "Save as a PDF" or "PDF Writer" instead of whatever printers you have. Keep in mind, you may not be able to make additional changes to your saved form once you save it. But at least you'll have a saved copy which you can email.
