New Media Design Practices
Students who choose this track of study will:
New Media Design Practices Requirements BA - New Media Design Practices(NMDP) Students must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA in order to participate in the program. There will only be 20 candidates in the program at any given time. All candidates will prepare a visual portfolio and written materials for professional review and acceptance into the program. Two letters of faculty support must accompany the program application. (One must be from an art faculty member). All accepted candidates must conduct themselves as professionals and adhere to the Professional Code of Conduct once accepted into the program of study; they will follow the TMA policy guidelines when working in the museum. Welcome to Barry Whittaker, Assistant Professor, New Media Design Practices The Department of Art welcomes Assistant Professor, Barry Whittaker to the faculty at UT. Professor Whittaker received his MFA in 2009 from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Since his graduation, he has taught digital photography and digital workflow at the Houston Center for Photography; video and digital media at the Art Institute of Houston North; and photography and digital imaging at the Pont-Aven School of Contemporary Art, in Pont-Aven, France. Most recently, Barry has been teaching language at an art, music, and design high school in Nara-shi, Japan. Professor Whittaker will coordinate the New Media Design Practices program and will share his design and new media expertise with interested students. |
