Concert Chorale - MUS 3140:001

The UT Concert Chorale is a select ensemble of 24-40 voices. The group sings the finest
choral literature from the 16th throughout the 20th centuries including a cappella
works, major compositions for chorus and large ensemble, folk songs, spirituals, and
carols. The Chorale performs at least two major concert each semester, appears at
conventions and takes an annual tour. Acceptance into the ensemble is through auditions

Men's Chorus - MUS 3180:001

The Men's Chorus is a choir of 45-70 voices open to any male. Traditional male chorus
literature along with Barbershop selections and extended works are performed. At least
one concert is given each semester on campus with occasional outside performances.

The University of Toledo Women’s Chorus is an ensemble of 40 to 60 members that is open to all women in the UT community. The class may be scheduled for 1 hour of credit. The choir sings a wide variety of music from historic to contemporary and from heavy to very light. The Women’s Chorus performs two concerts each semester with the other choirs within the Choral Department and may, from time to time, perform with the UT Symphony Orchestra. "The Tender Land" | November 22, 23, 24, 2013 | Doermann Theatre, University Hall
Music by Aaron Copland, Libretto by Horace Everett - A young woman's hopes for love
and a better life brighten with the arrival of two harvesters to her family's farm.
Copland's music for this bittersweet story was inspired by images of Dustbowl-era
farmers and their struggles.

Program features a selection of opera classics and holiday favorites.
"The Old Maid & The Thief" | February 21, 22, 23, 2014 | Doermann Theater in University Hall
From Gian Carlo Menotti. Originally composed for a radio performance, this opera,
which is worded in English, was later adapted to the stage. An old maid and her younger
servant girl vie for the attentions of a male guest, making convenient ethical compromises
to do so.
