With presentation to more than 15,000 people since 2000, it’s clear the Center for
Successful Aging faculty and team members are not afraid to take the show on the road.
Dr. Barbara Kopp Miller, Administrative Director, and her colleagues address aging
from biological, psychological, and sociological viewpoints to audiences of adults,
older adults, caregivers, health-professionals, students, and the Northwest Ohio community.

FITNESS WALKING PROGRAMS
Exercise helps you stay active, mobile and energetic. Regular exercise and physical
activity are important to physical and mental health at any age. Put some activity
in your daily routine. You'll love the benefits it brings to your life.
The UT Center for Successful Aging offers ongoing FREE fitness walking classes to
the community. These classes are held at various locations. We'd love to have you

RocketWalk Fittracks: A fitness walking program for adults at every fitness level held at Toledo Metroparks Wildwood Preserve and Pearson Park! FREE classes! Classes starting again in the spring. More details will be posted in April.
RocketWalk Bootcamp: A fitness walking program for UT employees. Classes are FREE! Classes starting again in the spring. More details will be posted in April.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT AND PROGRAMS
The UT Center for Successful Aging is committed to support community events that promote
education and awareness and meet the needs of the senior population in Northwest Ohio.
The Center for Successful Aging participates in and sponsors many local events and
organizations that assist with serving the needs of seniors. Below are some of the
programs/events that service the community.
Walk to End Alzheimer's
The Alzheimer's Associations Walk to End Alzheimer's is the largest event to raise
awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. The walk is held annually
in over 600 communities nationwide, including Northwest Ohio. The UT Center for Successful
Aging is an active supporter of this event as well as a collaborative partner on many
other events with the local Alzheimer's Association. For more information on the Walk

Provides care, services, advice, and support to persons living with Alzheimer’s disease
and related disorders as well as their caregivers; provides education and information
to the public and healthcare professionals; and advocates for increased support and
services. In addition, the Center conducts collaborative research with MemoryLane Care Services.
