    Job 994690 & 994689, Pharmacy Technician/Attendant, Student Medical Center:

    Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the pharmacy attendant will perform tasks involving the dispensing, distribution, and charging of drugs.  He/she is involved in proper storage, compounding, packaging, labeling, and record keeping associated with drugs.  The position of pharmacy attendant will respect and uphold patient confidentiality.

    Qualifications for this position include:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.  A strong background in math and science preferred. 
    • Applicants must fulfill requirements of a qualified pharmacy technician in accordance with Ohio State Board of Pharmacy regulations, including passing an examination provided by a national pharmacy technician certification program that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies.  
    • Preferred requirements include the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, at least six months of previous experience with a working knowledge of the metric system along with names, strengths, and dosage forms of medications, knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique, knowledge of common medical abbreviations, knowledge of QS-1 computer system, knowledge of office practices, procedures, and inventory control, basic knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique, and effective interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service.

    Applicants will be required to pass a FBI and BCI&I background check.  $13.56 per hour starting rate. 

    Schedule: Times and days may vary slightly based on the operational needs of the department.  Part Time (16 hours)   

    Friday              3-6 PM

    Saturday         9-2 PM

    Sunday            9-2 PM

    Monday           3-6 PM

    (every other week)
