    Orientation
    All newly hired permanent staff members and post doctoral associates on both campuses must attend New Hire Orientation. Orientations are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month on the Health Science Campus at Dowling Hall - Room 2315.  Orientation begins at 8:00am and runs through 4:00pm.  Lunch will be provided.

    Transportation to the Health Science Campus is available via shuttle through University Transit Services.  To view the shuttle schedule to the Health Science Campus please click here.  Shuttle stop B6 - Mulford Library is the closest stop to Dowling Hall.

    In order for Human Resources to prepare orientation materials in advance, the Hiring Department must contact their Human Resources Representative to schedule the new employee for their orientation prior to the orientation date.

    Topics discussed/presented during New Hire Orientation:
    Presenters will discuss and give information on many topics during orientation. Some of those topics for discussion include:

    • Student/Patient Centeredness
    • Union Information (if applicable to employee)
    • Customer Service Training
    • HIPPA, Patient Confidentiality, FERPA - Student Data Safety
    • Infection Control and Performance Improvement Standards
    • Safety Program, Campus Police/Crime Prevention, Occurrence Reports, HAZMAT, Fire Safety and Emergency Plans
    • Cultural Diversity and Harassment
    • Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) information
    • Medical/Healthcare Benefits, Annuities, Flexible Spending Accounts, Life Insurance
