BLACK HISTORY MONTH - KICK OFF LUNCHEON FEATURING ANGELA DAVIS

Dr. Angela Davis, an activist, scholar and author, spoke at The University of Toledo’s Black History Month Kickoff Luncheon Saturday, Feb. 4. 

Her talk is titled “The State of Black America: Views From a Political Activist.”

Multicultural Lunch and Learn - dialogue on unity from different cultural perspectives.

Candy Crash - guest watched the movie Candy Crush followed by discussion on inter-group relations.

DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. 2017 UNITY CELEBRATION

Reconciliation through Service: Education, Social Justice & Religion

The celebration included a musical introduction from the Scott High School marching band, a welcome from President Sharon L. Gaber and musical performances by The University of Toledo Gospel Choir. The keynote speaker was award winning actress and writer Donzaleigh Abernathy whose parents were heavily involved in the civil rights movement with their friend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
