Programs in Educational Administration and Supervision (EDAS)  The University of Toledo’s graduate degrees and licensure programs in Educational Administration and Supervision (EDAS) are designed for professional educators working full or part-time in elementary or secondary schools who wish to begin or advance in a career in educational administration. The M.Ed. degree in EDAS prepares teachers, special educators, and counselors to become highly skilled and effective leaders and supervisors at the building level within PreK- Grade 12 schools. The Education Doctorate (Ed.D.) degree in EDAS prepares professional educators for advanced administrative positions in school district leadership. Ohio Administrator Licensure can be earned in conjunction with a degree program, or added to an already completed graduate degree in education. Both the degree and licensure programs are rigorous, standards-based, and designed to help practitioner-scholars apply research and theory to practice within the field that helps all students achieve at high levels. Please see the Mission and Goals section to learn more.

The EDAS program at UT is designed to accommodate the schedules of working education professionals, especially those residing within Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. Michigan students admitted to a degree program from Monroe, Lenawee, Hillsdale, Washtenaw, Oakland, McComb and Wayne counties enjoy in-state tuition. The Ed.D. for School District Leadership is offered in a cohort format. Off campus, distance-learning, and summer intensive options are also available in some programs. Faculty members offer students in the program insights gained from years of administrative experience in the field and a rich background in program evaluation, and educational research and writing.

We invite you to explore the various degree and licensure options available through the UT EDAS program:

M.Ed. in EDAS (with and without Ohio Administrative Licensure)

Ohio Administrative/Principal Licensure added to completed Master’s Degree

    Ed.S. in EDAS

Ed.D. in EDAS (with and without Ohio Administrative Licensure: School District Leadership)

Ohio Administrative/Superintendent Licensure added to completed M.Ed. or Ed.S. in EDAS

To discuss the best option for you, contact The Department of Educational Foundations & Leadership at 419-530-2461.
