Dr. Leigh Chiarelott is a Professor of Education at the University of Toledo where he has been since 2007. He was formerly the department chair of Curriculum and Instruction from 2007-2013, and again in 2015 as interim chair. Previously, he was a professor, department chair, and school director at BGSU from 1977-2007. He has published two books, Lenses on Teaching, co-authored with Leonard Davidman and Kevin Ryan, and Curriculum in Context, which he sole authored. He has published over 30 articles in refereed journals and has presented over 75 papers at prestigious conferences (AERA, ASCD, IRA, Bergamo Curriculum Theory Conference, etc.) His research interests are in contextual teaching and learning (experience-based learning) and Professional Learning Communities (PLC’s). Dr. Chiarelott has directed over 50 dissertations.
