COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS TEACHER CREDENTIALING PROGRAM


PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The University of Toledo offers teacher CCP credentialing programs  in biology, chemistry, and English. These online graduate programs are designed to be completed in 18 months and include a one-week, on-campus experience each summer. 

Students who already have a master’s degree may be eligible to earn an Education Specialist degree.

Programs in mathematics (on campus) and foreign language may become available for Spring

Cohort beginning in January 2020.

BiologyMaster of science and education in biology - Online

The Master of Science and Education in Biology is an online graduate program designed for teachers with a background in life sciences. The program is 36 graduate hours including two, face-to-face, summer experiences. Program completers earn a master's degree and become qualified to teach CCP courses in biology.

 
ChemistryMASTER OF SCIENCE AND EDUCATION IN CHEMISTRY - ONLINE

The Master of Science and Education in Chemistry is an online graduate program designed for teachers with a background in chemistry. The program is 36 graduate hours including two, face-to-face, summer experiences. Program completers earn a master's degree and become qualified to teach CCP courses in chemistry.

 
EnglishMaster of arts and education in english - Online

The Master of Arts and Education in English is an online graduate program designed for teachers with a background in English. The program is 36 graduate hours including two, face-to-face, summer experiences. Program completers earn a master's degree and become qualified to teach CCP courses in English.


ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  •  Ohio license in AYA chemistry or AYA integrated science with a concentration in chemistry
  • Undergraduate preparation in content coursework
  • Master's degree**
  • Admission to The College of Graduate Studies.

**Students who already have a master’s degree will be eligible to earn an Education Specialist degree.

For information about scholarships available through the Ohio Alliance for Dual Enrollment Partnerships (OADEP), please visit the OADEP instructor scholarship website.  The teacher's school district must be a member of OADEP to be considered, and the deadline is at the end of March for the next academic year.
