    Early Childhood Education

    The Early Childhood Education program prepares students to work with children who are typically developing, at risk, gifted, and have mild to moderate special needs in a variety of settings (from age 3 to grade 3). The student must complete a minimum of 36 hours of University Core and General Education courses. The 36 hours of course work must include 10 hours of Early Professional courses and 9 hours of Cognate courses.

    • 36 credit hours University Core and General Education courses
    • 21 credit hours Pre Professional courses
    • 9 credit hours Cognate courses
    • 15-16 hours Area of Specialization (math, science, language arts, or social studies)
    • 12 credit hours Professional Education courses
    • 57 credit hours Cohort Semesters
      • 12 credit hours Cohort Semester 1
      • 15 credit hours Cohort Semester 2
      • 15 credit hours Cohort Semester 3
      • 15 credit hours Cohort Semester 4
