    Music Education

What are the most effective ways to teach people how to play and appreciate music?  That's what you'll learn as a music education major, and a combination of exceptional faculty and facilities make UT an ideal learning environment.

Our faculty has been seen and heard as soloists, recording artists, conductors and principal players in The Toledo Symphony Orchestra, The Toledo Jazz Orchestra, The Toledo Opera and numerous other local and regional groups. The department also boasts award-winning composers and a low student-teacher ratio so you get personal attention. Our facilities include two concert halls, a stateof- the-art MIDI and recording studio, a computer lab for student projects and ample practice rooms, many with disklaviers. Also, student teaching gives students the chance to work with outstanding teachers and gain a "real-world" experience by actually teaching in a classroom.

What to expect when you graduate

When you complete this program, you'll be eligible for K-12 initial teacher licensure in Ohio. Many graduates also enjoy successful careers in the performing arts such as Symphony musicians.
