Berhane Teclehaimanot, Ph.D. is a Professor of Educational Technology and Program Coordinator at The University
of Toledo in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Berhane served for fourteen
years as a Director of the Carver Teacher Education Center and taught over 22 years
courses in educational technology, to strengthen the quality of graduate education
through research and quality instruction at the graduate level. He has authored and
co-authored over 55 research articles and has made over 82 presentations at the national,
international and regional conferences on his research interests primarily on the
integration of technology into the curriculum to enhance the teaching and learning
process. In addition, he has provided over 60 faculty development/training workshops in various
topics in the area of educational technology. Dr. Teclehaimanot’s research for the
last seven years also served as the basis for the federal and state grants totaling
over $7 million for the past 7 years. Dr. Teclehaimanot received the 2006-2007 Outstanding
Faculty Award for Teaching from Judith Herb College of Education, at the University
of Toledo. Dr. Teclehaimanot also received 2004 Distinguished Alumnus Award from the
University of Toledo, College of Education Alumni Affiliate and an outstanding Citizen
Award from Council of the City of Toledo. He was also recognized by faculty members
in the colleges of education and art and sciences at the University of Toledo for
his outstanding leadership in Educational Technology in 2003 PT3 faculty development
technology training.
Berhane has B.A. in Geology from Saint Louis University in Saint Louis, Missouri
and he holds Masters and Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) in Educational Technology from the
University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio.
